A Force in the Northern California Electronic
Music Scene
Dimitris Mykonos is considered by many to be the
best nightclub DJ in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Since the late 1990s, Dimitris’ innovative mixing
talent, raw energy and creative spirit have
exerted an irresistible pull for a cross-section
of people, from twenty-something San Francisco
scenesters to European expatriates. Known for his
ability to connect with his audience and bring
people to their feet to dance, he incorporates
diverse styles of music, from uplifting vocal
house to progressive to trance to Latin into
seamless, smooth-flowing, exuberant sets that turn
every Dimitris Mykonos show into a celebration.
Standing Out from the Crowd
One of the most prolific DJs in northern
California, Dimitris Mykonos now plays more than
200 gigs a year, including clubs in San Francisco,
Las Vegas, Miami, Cancun, and even Moscow. He has
shared the stage with some of the world’s best
DJs, including Paul Van Dyk, Bad Boy Bill and
Christopher Lawrence. He headlines legendary
events such as San Francisco’s Exotic Erotic Ball
and the San Francisco Love Parade, and is resident
DJ for Ruby Skye, PleasureZone, 1015 Folsom,
Fluid, Crash and Mixed Elements. His website
receives over a million page views a month from
loyal fans across the U.S. and around the world.
In his adopted home of San Francisco, a city
reputed to have more DJs per capita than any
other, Dimitris stands out. As DJ Bad Boy Bill
says, “Dimitris Mykonos is one of the best DJs in
the world, coming out of San Francisco.”
Radio and Recording Artistry
Now a UBL recording artist, Dimitris recently
produced a double album of sexy house tracks
entitled San Francisco Mixx. Just released in
November 2006, the album is already soaring on
local and national charts. Dimitris' mixing
talents have long been familiar to radio
listeners; he is one of the original residents of
the Thump Radio show in Los Angeles on KBIG 104.3
FM (www.kbig.com). Co-hosted by Thump's Captain
Mason Rothert, the show enjoys the #1 spot on its
time slot in Southern California. Dimitris' mixes
flow right after midnight almost nightly across
the Los Angeles sky. In Northern California,
Dimitris co-hosts the popular live-mixed Clubbers
Commute program on San Francisco's Energy 92.7,
along with Trevor Simpson. Dimitris also channels
the dynamic energy of his live performances into
stellar remixes of house tracks, including his
2005 mix of Lola’s “No Strings”, which reached #2
on the American Billboard dance charts, and
Plummet’s “50 Ways to Leave Your Lover”, which
charted in the top ten for Energy 92.7 FM.
